In the print and PDF edition, we are cutting back the three Portfolio Sort tables to include only the Symbol Sort. For several years, we have been providing on the IAS website a monthly Excel spreadsheet of the data in the Portfolio Sort tables. This spreadsheet facilitates ranking and searching by dividend yield, EPS growth rate, projected total return, P/E ratio, or any other vale. As a result, subscribers still have a resource for easily identifying companies that fit their personal objectives.
Space is not available to add additional columns to the Sort table in the print edition, but we are expanding the information that appears in the Portfolio Sort spreadsheet on the IAS website. We have added the sector, industry, and website for all companies. Sorting by industry and sector is useful in discovering companies that help meet particular portfolio goals, and the investor relations areas of company websites are a rich resource for investors conducting research or managing portfolios. You can find this spreadsheet on the IAS website; look for the “XLS” link under the Portfolio Sorts header in the right navigation section of each online issue.
With our long-term view of the market, we aren’t rattled by the day-to-day, week-to-week, month-to-month, or even quarter-to-quarter news about the economy, financial markets, or individual companies. Our team has decades of professional experience in the stock market and is never swayed by irrelevant short-term thinking. We do recognize, however, that many subscribers would like to hear from us when the rest of the market is reacting to one headline or another, whether about the companies we follow; sector or industry events; the domestic or international economy; or other global events. We are therefore redoubling our efforts to reach out with more frequent email updates when circumstances suggest some reassurance might be appreciated. Watch your inbox for more email alerts in the coming months.
Our How to Use IAS user guide has been newly updated to reflect the new features of the newsletter and the website, and can be downloaded from the Resources section of InvestorAdvisoryService.com.
Finally, in November 2016 we will inaugurate an exclusive quarterly webinar series with the IAS editors and analysts. These webinars will be your chance to ask questions of our staff, learn more about the winning IAS approach to stock analysis, and gain additional insights into the market. You’ll receive your personal invitation to the first subscriber webinar in the next few weeks.
We appreciate our subscribers’ loyalty and look forward to many more years of successful investing together.
